Do you want to learn more about Western Dressage, and how you can have a lot of fun with it? We have fallen in love with it. It is a wonderful way to give your horse and you both something to work on, while having fun among friends! We are doing a play day where you can come in, learn and ride a test and see what it is the judges are looking for. As well as learn how to teach your horse each maneuver. We would love to have you there! We are starting with doing this on Saturday only, but if we have enough interest we do another day of it on Sunday. We will take 10 each day. Part of the day will be going over the test, and what to expect. We will then all go out and practice in the arena (we have the letters and all) Riders can ride a walk, trot, or walk, trot, canter test. We plan to show next season at Sport of Horses Park and will be prepping for that. We’d love to have you join us! Price is $195 for the day. If you have interest in doing it both Saturday, and Sunday, let us know! $100 deposit saves your spot. The rest is due prior to the clinic. Cabins and stalls are available onsite for rent.

OK ladies!! It is that time of year again….Have the winter blues set in just a little? Are you needing a day filled with horses and like minded cowgirls to look forward too? Then join us on March 2nd for our God, Women and Horses – One Day Retreat at Michael Lyons Horsemanship!!! This is offered exclusively and made possible by the Prayer Pony Foundation, Inc. and as others can testify, is a beautiful experience for all who attend!

$50 (non-refundable) registration fee reserves your spot. Additional (min.) $50 donation to the Prayer Pony Foundation, Inc. is suggested on the day of the retreat, but not required.

Overnight Cowgirl Cabin accommodations available for $100 each per night for anyone wishing to make it an extended weekend get away! Each cowgirl cabin has 2 queen beds and a full bathroom with kitchenette and sleeps 4.

Retreat begins Saturday morning promptly at 9am with breakfast and check-in and will end at 4:30. Lunch will also be included.

Obstacles are a great way to build confidence for you horse, and also a great way for the horse to build confidence in YOU and what you are asking.

Do you want to try you hand at reining? Love the finesse and control that it has to offer? To us, every horse should have some sort of reining training, because it is a great way to have your horse focused on you, have wonderful speed control, and body control.

In this clinic we are going to work on the beginning stages of each piece of the pattern, and talk about how you can achieve them. Need help with your stop, spin, speed control, of head set?

This is the clinic for you!
We will touch each piece of the pattern and more!

The fee for the two days is $400. A $150 will save your spot.

Learn the “Whys” and “Why Nots” of horse training. When coming to a clinic with Michael, he is going to provide you with your very own program that will allow you to reach the goals that you desire. Each clinic is tailored to the horse and riders needs. Come and expect to RIDE!

Michael firmly believes in giving each rider the tools they need to put the pieces together in their training. You should not expect your learning to end when the clinic is over! Each person will be prepared to take the exercises they have learned and be able to apply them to other horses, or to continue to perfect them on the horse they rode.

3 days are great as each rider will really begin to become confident in their maneuvers and reach a more complete understanding in the 3rd day. Performance Clinics are our most popular and sought after clinics. The word “performance” does not mean you have to be a showman. Whether you are performing in the arena or out of the arena, this clinic applies to you! It is designed to take the next steps in your riding to get a great handle with your horse. You do not have to be and advanced rider to participate in this clinic either. No matter the discipline, we are strive for the same thing, better control.

Our 5 Day Empowered Horsemanship Clinic is an intense program that is sure to jumpstart you on your horsemanship journey.

Located at our wonderful facility in Randleman, NC you will have access to two clinicians on a 5 day adventure to work on YOUR goals. Michael and Julia will start on the ground, working on ground manners and liberty work, and then take you to saddle to tackle any goals you are searching for! Whether it be foundation, performance, better communication, slowing your horses feet down, confidence work, softness, trail riding or more.

By signing up for the clinic, you will have a place to stay in one of our beautiful cabins, and a stall for your horse. This is all included in your price.

Do you have a Living Quarters Trailer, or RV that you would rather stay in? Contact our office about getting a discounted rate by doing so. We do not have hookups, but generators are welcome. Bathroom and showers are located in the barn.

Our facilities offer access to a 19 stall barn, a 100×200 indoor arena, trails and obstacles.

Cowgirls Get-Away Camp This Camp is a fun packed weekend filled with learning about horsemanship, team building, leadership, and discovery. Ever wanted to have a long weekend to relax, enjoy time with your horse, learn Horsemanship, drink wine, and just enjoy the company of like minded women?

We had so many people asking about doing a “teen camp” for adults! So here is it!

You will gain the confidence in communication with your horse, and work on the goals your desire. We will work in the round pen, on the trail, and in the arena. Expect to learn about liberty work, ground work, hip control, body control, tricks, and problem solving. We have created the perfect safe place for you to come to gain knowledge and empowerment for yourselves. Our hope is to create an atmosphere that will help you rejuvenate yourself and get going in the direction you wish to go, all while learning to create a better relationship with your horse, yourselves, and the people surrounding you.

Our camp includes Dinner each night and LODGING for you and your HORSE. Our lodging consists of beautiful cabins with private showers and bathrooms.

LODGING:
Our lodging consists of 4 beautiful cabins each equipped with 2 queen beds, mini fridge, microwave, a private bathroom, shower, air conditioning, and heat.

STABLING:
We have 19 spacious 12×12 stalls available for those bringing horses. Each equipped with a hay feeder, feeding tub, and water buckets. Participant responsible for bringing their own bedding.

BARN FACILITIES:
19 Stalls, wash rack with hot and cold water, bathroom, classroom, tack room area, round pen, and indoor riding arena (100x200ft in size).

What will you need to bring?

If you are bringing a horse, have all of the supplies that you would typically use when riding. Your saddle, pad, bridle, grooming supplies, fly spray, and any extras. If you have a dressage whip, bring that along with a halter with a longer lead for our training sessions. (12ft lead or longer is preferred). A snaffle bit for your bridle is also preferred but not required.

All supplies for these activities are included in the tuition except for bedding for your horse, and your horse’s food. Bedding can be purchased on site for $7 a bag.

Be sure to pack appropriately. Closed toed shoes are required when around horses. Jeans/riding pants are also required while riding. Helmets are strongly recommended but not required.

You will need to arrive the afternoon before. We will get everyone checked in and settled in for the week. Each day will start at about 9:30am and run until around 5:00pm with an hour lunch break and then dinner at 6:00pm.

Tuition is $800 per rider with a $250 deposit.

Do you want to learn how to build a better connection with your horse? Trick Training and Liberty work is a fantastic way to do so.

We will work on the ground to establish a line of communication so strong that one day we can do it without ropes and halters.

Join us for this clinic to learn about liberty training and tricks such as the lay down, bow, spanish walk, smile, pedestal, and sit down.

Clinic price is $400. A $150 deposit will save your spot. The remaining balance is due prior to the clinic.
